Anthony Edwards has another off-court legal bill attached to his name.
TMZ reported that the Minnesota Timberwolves guard was ordered to pay Alexandria Descroches $14,000 per month in child support for their son Amir, who was born in 2023. The report said Edwards admitted under oath that he has never met the child in person and is not seeking parenting time.
The order goes beyond the monthly payment. According to the report, Edwards must also take out a life insurance policy worth about $2.6 million with Descroches listed as the primary beneficiary and pay more than $21,000 in her legal fees.
The court tied the number to Edwards' income. TMZ reported that his monthly income was listed near $4.8 million, while the baseline child-support figure was roughly $3,200 before the judge adjusted it upward.
This is not a team issue or a basketball transaction. It is a family-court ruling involving one of the league's biggest young stars, with the reaction centered on both the money and Edwards' stated lack of relationship with the child.
For Edwards, the order adds another legal storyline to an offseason that should otherwise be about Minnesota's next step around its franchise guard.
