Isaiah Hartenstein is staying in Oklahoma City's long-term picture.
ESPN's Shams Charania reported that Hartenstein intends to sign a new three-year contract with the Thunder, taking his total guaranteed earnings with the franchise to five years and $134 million. The agreement would run through the 2028-29 season and adds $75 million in new money over the next three years.
The structure matters almost as much as the headline number. Hartenstein's representatives, Andrew Morrison and Aaron Mintz of CAA Sports, worked with the Thunder on a deal that also includes a maximum 15 percent trade kicker and a mutual option designed to let both sides revisit the contract in 2028 before the final season.
Oklahoma City signed Hartenstein in 2024, and he became a central frontcourt piece during the Thunder's 2025 championship run. This move keeps one of their defensive anchors in place while the rest of the roster gets more expensive around Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the team's young core.
The Thunder are not just rewarding a title-season contributor. They are buying stability at center before the next wave of roster decisions arrives.
