A post on r/NYKnicks highlighted a fourth-quarter sequence with New York up one and 3:22 left. After the Knicks regained possession, Spurs coach Mitch Johnson appeared to signal for a foul, setting up a possible Hack-a-Mitch possession against Mitchell Robinson.
Bridges noticed it immediately. He motioned hard for a timeout, moved toward the official and got the stoppage before San Antonio could foul Robinson. The Knicks then pulled Robinson from the game, avoiding the free-throw trap at a tight point in the fourth quarter.
The broadcast credited the timeout to Mike Brown, but the Reddit post argues the clip shows Bridges initiating the whole thing while Brown was speaking with another coach. That is the kind of detail that fits Bridges' value: not always loud, but connected to the game before everyone else reacts.
Knicks fans used the thread to praise the trade again, pointing to Bridges' off-ball movement, team defense, chemistry and late-game awareness. The timeout will not show up in a box score, but in a one-point playoff game, reading the opponent's plan three seconds early can swing a possession.
