Robert Horry's career keeps aging into one of the strangest winning resumes in NBA history.
A Reddit thread marking Horry's 56th birthday pointed to three team-based achievements that may be almost impossible to repeat: seven championships in the post-merger NBA, at least two titles with three different teams, and a playoff record in which he reached the postseason and won a first-round series in all 16 seasons.
That last part makes the stat feel unreal. Horry did not simply land on a few champions. His entire career avoided the early exits that define many Hall of Fame resumes.
Horry won with Hakeem Olajuwon's Rockets, Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant's Lakers, and Tim Duncan's Spurs. He was never the main star, but he was trusted in huge playoff moments, which is why Big Shot Bob stuck.
Fans split over which feat is hardest to chase. Some picked the seven rings. Others focused on winning multiple titles with three different franchises, especially in an NBA where tax rules make those paths harder.
Horry's case is not about ranking him with superstars. It is about how rare it is for one role player to stay useful, available and correctly placed for 16 straight years.
