Rockets could make Sengun and picks available in superstar chase, per report
Houston is being tied to potential star trades, with Şengün and picks possibly in play. Nothing is close yet, but it signals the Rockets could shift from patience to a more aggressive push if a real opportunity shows up.
There’s a new report out of Houston, and it’s the kind that gets people’s attention. According to The Athletic’s Will Guillory, the Rockets could be open to putting Alperen Şengün and future picks on the table this summer if a real star becomes available. The names tied to that idea are big ones: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard, Donovan Mitchell.
But this is still early. Nothing is agreed to, nothing is being finalized, and there’s no sign that talks with those teams have reached any serious stage. Right now, it’s more about direction than action.
What it does tell you is how Houston might be thinking. If a top-tier player actually shakes loose, they’re not planning to sit back. They’re at least considering what it would take to jump into that level of conversation.
And that’s a shift. Şengün has been a core piece for them, someone they’ve been building around. Including him in potential talks suggests a move away from patience and toward trying to win sooner.
For now, though, it’s important not to get ahead of it. This isn’t a deal in progress, just a scenario being discussed. Houston is being connected to big moves, but until something concrete happens, it stays in the “worth watching” category.
