About Tristan da Silva

Da Silva is a Brazilian-German forward who reached the NBA through the 2024 draft after a decorated four-year career at Colorado. A multilingual player with international roots, he has established himself as a floor-spacing forward with defensive versatility.

Born Tristan da Silva on May 15, 2001, in Munich, Germany, to a Brazilian father and German mother, he played simultaneously with Schwabing in Germany's Regionalliga and IBA München in the NBBL in 2019. In 12 NBBL games, he averaged 16.9 points and shot 53.2 percent. He committed to Colorado in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At Colorado, da Silva averaged 2.7 points as a freshman. He became a starter as a sophomore, averaging 9.4 points and 3.5 rebounds. As a junior, he averaged 15.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.3 steals and was named first-team All-Pac-12. In 2023, he declared for the NBA draft but returned for his senior season. As a senior, he averaged 16.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists while shooting a career-high 39.5 percent from three on 4.8 attempts per game. He was named second-team All-Pac-12.

The Orlando Magic selected da Silva 18th overall in the 2024 NBA draft. He joined teammates Cody Williams and KJ Simpson in being selected, making Colorado one of only three programs with at least three draft picks in 2024. He signed with Orlando on July 6, 2024, and made his NBA debut on October 23, 2024, in a win over Miami.

Da Silva's older brother, Oscar, played at Stanford and later played for Bayern Munich. Their father was a professional boxer before immigrating to Germany. Tristan speaks five languages: German, Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English.

Da Silva functions as a modern stretch forward with size, shooting range, and the ability to defend multiple positions. His steady improvement at Colorado, from bench player to first-team All-Pac-12, reflects a player who maximizes opportunity. In the NBA, his development centers on three-point consistency, defensive versatility, and providing floor spacing in reserve forward units.
