Kyle Lowry is an American professional basketball guard who was selected 24th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2006 NBA draft. A six-time NBA All-Star and 2019 NBA champion with the Toronto Raptors, he also won an Olympic gold medal with Team USA in 2016. Born in North Philadelphia, he played two seasons at Villanova and was named All-Big East Second Team before becoming one of the greatest Raptors players of all time.

Lowry is an American guard who has built a Hall of Fame-caliber career as a tough, defensive-minded floor general since being drafted in the first round in 2006. He has played for the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat, Charlotte Hornets, and Philadelphia 76ers, winning an NBA championship and an Olympic gold medal.

Born Kyle Terrell Lowry on March 25, 1986, in North Philadelphia, he attended Cardinal Dougherty High School. He was rated a five-star recruit and the No. 6 point guard nationally by Rivals.com. He committed to Villanova and played two seasons for the Wildcats. As a freshman, he was named to the Big East All-Rookie Team and Philadelphia Big Five Rookie of the Year. As a sophomore, he was named to the All-Big East Second Team and First Team All-Big 5. He declared for the 2006 NBA draft.

The Memphis Grizzlies selected Lowry with the 24th overall pick. He appeared in three seasons with Memphis before being traded to the Houston Rockets in February 2009. After four seasons in Houston, he was traded to the Toronto Raptors in 2012. In Toronto, he formed a backcourt duo with DeMar DeRozan and helped the franchise reach new heights, including their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance and their first NBA championship in 2019. He was named a six-time All-Star and All-NBA Third Team honoree.

In 2021, Lowry was traded to the Miami Heat, where he helped the team reach the 2023 NBA Finals. He was traded to the Charlotte Hornets in 2024 before joining the Philadelphia 76ers via contract buyout.
