Peyton Watson has another team circling his market.
Marc Stein and Jake Fischer reported that the Clippers are weighing whether to pursue Watson if they make the roster moves needed to operate as a cap-room team this summer. The Lakers and Bulls had already been mentioned as possible Watson suitors going back to February's trade deadline.
The Clippers part depends on what happens next with their own books. Stein reported earlier Friday that Los Angeles and Bogdan Bogdanovic agreed to move his player option deadline to Monday. That gives the Clippers more time to keep trade conversations involving Bogdanovic alive through the weekend.
Watson's appeal is straightforward. He is a long defensive wing who can guard multiple spots, and players with that profile tend to draw attention once teams build out the middle of the roster. For the Nuggets, that means his market could become uncomfortable if several teams with flexibility decide to push.
This is still a conditional pursuit. The Clippers first need the cap-room path to stay open. If it does, Watson becomes one of the names to watch around a Los Angeles team trying to reshape its depth without losing size on the wing.
