The NBA's Aspiration investigation has reached Kawhi Leonard.
According to ESPN, the league interviewed Leonard and one of his advisers about the sponsorship deal. Investigators are examining whether it was linked to an attempt by the Clippers to bypass the salary cap.
The Clippers and Leonard's camp deny wrongdoing. Leonard's side says the team only introduced his representatives to Aspiration in 2021, with no discussion of the salary cap.
An independent law firm is now preparing its report. Adam Silver will use the findings to decide whether any discipline is necessary.
