OG Anunoby has barely missed in these Finals. Four games into the series with San Antonio, the Knicks forward has a 78.4% true shooting percentage. If that number holds, it will be the best mark by a starter in a single NBA Finals.
He is making 58% of his shots from the field and 56% from three. There is a sizable gap to the old record: Ray Allen finished the 2008 Finals at 70.8% true shooting. Klay Thompson reached 70.6% in 2019.
That leaves voters with a real Finals MVP choice. Jalen Brunson runs New York's offense and has the better traditional numbers, including two steals per game to Anunoby's one. Anunoby has been remarkably efficient at both ends, though, and his Game 4 tip-in gave the Knicks a 3-1 lead.
