Kris Dunn

Dunn is an American guard who entered the NBA as a lottery pick in 2016 after a decorated college career at Providence. He has played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks, and Los Angeles Clippers, earning a reputation as a defensive specialist and playmaker despite injury setbacks.

Born Kristofer Michael Dunn on March 18, 1994, in New London, Connecticut, he attended New London High School. As a junior, he averaged 26.5 points, 10 rebounds, five steals, and five assists and led the Whalers to a 27-0 record and a Connecticut Class L State Championship. As a senior, he scored his 2,000th career point. He was ranked 24th nationally and committed to Providence.

At Providence, Dunn tore his labrum as a freshman and missed most of his sophomore season after shoulder surgery. He returned in 2014-15 to earn Big East Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors. As a redshirt junior, he was named a consensus first-team All-American and declared for the 2016 NBA draft.

The Minnesota Timberwolves selected Dunn with the fifth overall pick. He was traded to the Chicago Bulls in 2017 and later signed with the Atlanta Hawks in 2020, though ankle surgery limited him to nine games. He has also played for the Los Angeles Clippers.
