Terance Mann

Mann is an American guard-forward who has built an NBA career as a versatile rotation player since being selected in the second round of the 2019 draft. Known for his clutch performances and defensive versatility, he spent six seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers before moving to Atlanta.

Born Terance Stanley Mann on October 18, 1996, in Brooklyn, New York, he moved to Lowell, Massachusetts, at age 10. His parents are from Saint Lucia. His mother, Daynia La-Force, coached women's basketball at Rhode Island. He attended Tilton School in New Hampshire, where he averaged 23.1 points and 7.8 rebounds as a senior, led the school to a 31–5 record and the NEPSAC Class AA championship, and was named First Team All-NEPSAC. He signed with Florida State over Indiana, Boston College, Iowa, Maryland, Florida, and West Virginia.

At Florida State, Mann averaged 5.2 points as a freshman playing behind Malik Beasley and Dwayne Bacon. He was named a captain as a sophomore and posted 8.4 points and 4.5 rebounds. He suffered a torn abdominal and groin muscle in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament as the Seminoles reached the Elite Eight. As a junior, he averaged 12.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. As a senior, he averaged 11.4 points and 6.5 rebounds and led Florida State to a 29–8 record and the Sweet Sixteen. He finished as the third player in school history with over 1,200 points, 600 rebounds, 200 assists, and 100 steals.

The Los Angeles Clippers selected Mann 48th overall in the 2019 NBA draft. He signed on July 9, 2019, and made his NBA debut on October 24, 2019. On August 14, 2020, he recorded a then-career-high of 25 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists against Oklahoma City.

During the 2021 Western Conference Semifinals, Mann was inserted into the starting lineup with Kawhi Leonard injured. In Game 6, he scored a career-high 39 points on 7-of-10 three-point shooting, sparking a 25-point comeback and leading the Clippers to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history. He signed a two-year, $22 million extension in October 2021 and a three-year, $47 million extension in September 2024.

On February 6, 2025, Mann was traded to the Atlanta Hawks along with Bones Hyland for Bogdan Bogdanović and three second-round picks.

Mann functions as a versatile wing with elite athleticism, defensive flexibility, and the ability to heat up offensively in high-leverage moments. His Florida State tenure showcased a player who improved steadily across four years.
