Lindy Waters III

Waters is a Native American wing who has built an NBA career as a sharpshooting perimeter player and defensive contributor across multiple franchises. Born on July 28, 1997, in Norman, Oklahoma, Waters is the son of Lindy Waters Jr. and Lisa Waters. His father is a full-blooded Native American, and his mother is of Cherokee and Irish descent. Waters attended Norman North High School, where an incident involving an airsoft gun led to his expulsion and a transfer to Sunrise Christian Academy. He was eventually allowed to return to Norman North, where he rejoined the basketball team and helped the program reach the state title game.

Waters committed to Oklahoma State in November 2015 and played four seasons for the Cowboys. He emerged as a reliable scorer and perimeter shooter, demonstrating the ability to stretch defenses and contribute as a complementary offensive piece. His collegiate career established him as a prospect with NBA three-and-D potential.

Waters entered the NBA in 2022 with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
