Jrue Holiday

Holiday is an American guard who has established himself as one of the premier two-way players in the NBA since being drafted 17th overall in 2009. He has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, and Portland Trail Blazers, winning two NBA championships and multiple defensive honors.

Born Jrue Randall Holiday on June 12, 1990, in Los Angeles, California, he is the son of Shawn Holiday, who played college basketball at Arizona State, and Toya Holiday, who was named Pac-10 Player of the Year in 1982. He attended Campbell Hall School in Studio City, where he was a highly regarded prospect.

Holiday played one season at UCLA before declaring for the 2009 NBA draft. The Philadelphia 76ers selected him with the 17th overall pick. He spent four seasons in Philadelphia before being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in 2013. He spent seven seasons in New Orleans, earning his first All-Star selection and establishing himself as an elite defensive guard.

In 2020, Holiday was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks and won his first NBA championship in 2021. He was later traded to the Boston Celtics in 2023 and won his second NBA title in 2024. In the 2025 offseason, he was traded back to the Portland Trail Blazers. He has also won gold medals with the United States at the 2020 and 2024 Olympics.
