Jrue Holiday is back in the Raptors rumor lane.
Rocco Moschella of Raptors On SI listed Holiday as one of Toronto's trade targets before opening night, with the Kawhi Leonard situation still tied to the NBA's Clippers investigation. If that deal remains stuck, the Raptors may need a veteran path to help a win-now roster.
The fit is not hard to see. Holiday would not have to carry the offense. He could defend top guards, handle secondary playmaking and take pressure off Immanuel Quickley in tough backcourt matchups. Beside Scottie Barnes, that kind of connector guard has a clean role.
The experience piece matters too. Leonard's appeal for Toronto was partly championship credibility, and Holiday has won titles in two different cities. For a young Raptors group, that is a real selling point.
The obstacle is the deal itself. Portland has a crowded guard room, but Toronto would still have to match salary without giving up the wrong young player or pick. That makes Holiday a sensible target, not an easy one.
If Leonard stays frozen deep into the preseason, Holiday becomes a practical fallback: less star power, more defensive reliability, and a cleaner role next to Barnes and Quickley.
