AJ Dybantsa will get his chance to make a final impression on the Washington Wizards. Josh Robbins and David Aldridge of The Athletic report that Washington plans to host the BYU wing in the next few days as the franchise evaluates its options with the first pick in the 2026 NBA Draft on June 23.
The numbers explain why Dybantsa is firmly in the discussion. The 6-foot-9 wing led Division I with 25.5 points per game and paced the nation with 296 free-throw attempts. He shot 33 percent from three, a part of his game that will receive attention during the draft process.
Washington has already held a meeting with North Carolina wing Caleb Wilson, although Wilson did not work out for the team. Kansas guard Darryn Peterson remains another candidate for No. 1 after averaging 20.2 points and shooting 38 percent from deep. Dybantsa's visit is an important step, but the Wizards have not settled on their selection.
