Draymond Green wants the NBA to make the Kawhi Leonard case hurt if the league finds a violation.
Speaking on his podcast, Green said, "If the punishments aren't steep, everybody should do it." He added that if the outcome is only "a slap on the wrist," every player should be trying to find the same kind of edge.
The warning lands while the league reviews the Clippers' ties to outside business deals connected to Leonard, including the Aspiration sponsorship case. Los Angeles has not been found guilty of salary-cap circumvention, and Steve Ballmer has denied wrongdoing around the broader situation.
Green pushed the point further by connecting the case to the cap itself. He argued that a league with a team recently valued at $12.5 billion cannot treat small fines as real discipline, because wealthy owners would simply price that into the cost of keeping stars.
That is the pressure point for Adam Silver's office now. A light punishment would not just close one Clippers file. It could tell the rest of the league how much a hidden advantage actually costs.
