James Harden's Texas gun case is no longer hanging over his offseason.
TMZ reported that the unlawful carrying of a weapon charge from Harden's Houston arrest has been dismissed. According to the report, the Harris County District Attorney submitted the dismissal request Thursday after prosecutors said Harden completed an alternative resolution agreement.
The exact terms of that agreement were not disclosed. A judge signed off on the motion Thursday, closing the case before the NBA season moves closer in the fall.
That framing matters because the update is procedural, not a new basketball development. Harden was arrested in Houston and charged, but the case did not move toward a trial or longer legal fight once the alternative resolution was completed.
For Harden and the Clippers, the practical result is simple. The legal matter is off the board before training camp, leaving the conversation around him to shift back to his role, health and how Los Angeles handles another season with an expensive veteran core.
