Luka Doncic made sure the Lakers' Slovenia trip ended with more than workouts and team dinners.
According to BasketNews, Doncic and business manager Lara Beth took Los Angeles players to the Ljubljana Maternity Hospital before the team left the country. The Lakers met employees, took photos, signed autographs and visited wards to greet mothers with newborn babies.
The report also said the group visited a pediatric clinic, turning the final piece of the minicamp into a charity stop built around Doncic's hometown ties.
It fits the broader purpose of the trip. Doncic had already brought the Lakers to Ljubljana for a player-led minicamp, giving a reshaped roster time together before training camp. The basketball side mattered, but this was also Doncic pulling teammates into his own world.
For Los Angeles, that is part of the new dynamic. Doncic is not just adjusting to the Lakers anymore. He is setting the tone, organizing the room and using his standing in Slovenia to create moments the roster would not get in a normal preseason calendar.
The visit will not decide anything on the court. It does, however, show how quickly the franchise's center of gravity has moved toward Doncic.
