The Chicago Bulls are mourning Stacey King. The three-time NBA champion and longtime team broadcaster has died at 59.
The Bulls announced the news Sunday after being notified by a member of King's family. No cause of death was immediately available.
King was the sixth overall pick in the 1989 NBA Draft. He spent five seasons with Chicago and won three consecutive championships from 1991 to 1993. His eight-year NBA career also included stops with Minnesota, Miami, Boston and Dallas.
He later returned to the organization as a commentator and spent more than two decades calling Bulls games. King became known to a new generation of Chicago fans through his energy, humor and memorable broadcasts.
