Justin Edwards

Edwards is an American wing who reached the NBA as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and has developed into a rotation player for his hometown Philadelphia 76ers. His professional trajectory reflects a scoring wing with size and a willingness to embrace a developmental role after a decorated high school career and a single season at Kentucky.

Born Justin Edwards on December 16, 2003, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he attended Imhotep Institute Charter High School. As a junior, he averaged 18.3 points and 8.3 rebounds and led the Panthers to the PIAA Class 5A state championship. As a senior, he averaged 17.9 points and 7.5 rebounds as Imhotep repeated as state champions. He was named Mr. Pennsylvania Basketball and was selected to the 2023 McDonald's All-American Game.

Edwards was a consensus five-star recruit and rated the No. 1 overall recruit in the nation by ESPN in January 2023. He committed to Kentucky over Tennessee, Auburn, Kansas, Maryland, and Villanova. At Kentucky, he averaged 8.8 points and 3.4 rebounds in 32 games during his freshman season. He declared for the 2024 NBA draft.

After going undrafted, Edwards signed a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers on July 4, 2024. On January 14, 2025, he scored a career-high 25 points against Oklahoma City. On February 9, 2025, the 76ers signed him to a standard NBA contract. On March 21, he tied his career-high with 25 points against San Antonio. He made 44 appearances, including 26 starts, during the 2024-25 season, averaging 10.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. On June 27, 2025, he re-signed with the 76ers on a three-year, .1 million contract.

Edwards is a versatile wing with a smooth shooting stroke, size to shoot over closing defenders, and defensive versatility. He scores on catch-and-shoot threes, mid-range pull-ups, and timely cuts to the basket. His size and length allow him to guard multiple positions, and his scoring instincts make him a valuable floor-spacing option.
