Oduro is an American forward who reached the NBA as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and has played for the New Orleans Pelicans on a two-way contract after a decorated five-year college career at George Mason and Providence. His professional trajectory reflects a physical, skilled big man who provides interior scoring, rebounding, and shot-blocking in limited minutes.
Born Joshua Kwame Awuah Oduro on October 14, 2000, he attended Battlefield High School in Haymarket, Virginia, before transferring to Paul VI in Chantilly, where he led the Panthers to a 33-4 record, a VISAA Division I state title, and a No. 14 national ranking. He was named Second Team All-Conference.
At George Mason, Oduro played four seasons and established himself as one of the program's most productive players. He transferred to Providence for his final season and ranked in the top 10 in the Big East in scoring, rebounds, blocks, field goal percentage, free throw percentage, and defensive rebounds. He registered five double-doubles and nine games with 20 or more points, including a season-high 32 points against Creighton. In five seasons, he scored 1,913 points and grabbed 976 rebounds, averaging 12.9 points and 6.6 rebounds.
After going undrafted in 2024, Oduro joined the New Orleans Pelicans for Summer League and signed with the team on October 11, 2024. He was waived five days later and joined the Birmingham Squadron of the G League. On March 4, 2026, he signed a two-way contract with the Pelicans.
Oduro is a versatile forward with a strong interior game, soft touch around the rim, and shot-blocking instincts. He scores on post-ups, face-up jumpers, and short rolls, and he uses his size to set screens and rebound at a high rate. His offensive game expanded in college to include more mid-range counters and playmaking reads.
Oduro enters each season working to secure consistent NBA rotation minutes after an undrafted start and a G League apprenticeship. His trajectory from a Virginia high school to a George Mason standout, a Providence transfer, and a two-way contract player reflects physical development and a commitment to expanding his offensive skill set at every level.
