Jerami Grant

Grant is an American forward who has built a versatile NBA career across five franchises since being drafted in the second round in 2014. Known for his defensive versatility, shot-blocking, and scoring expansion at the NBA level, he has also represented the United States on the international stage.

Born Houston Jerami Grant on March 12, 1994, he attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland, where he averaged 12.5 points as a senior. Rated a four-star recruit by ESPN and ranked 37th nationally, he committed to Syracuse. In his sophomore season, he averaged 12.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists and was named All-ACC Honorable Mention. He declared for the 2014 NBA draft.

The Philadelphia 76ers selected Grant with the 39th overall pick and signed him to a four-year deal. On January 21, 2015, he recorded eight blocks against the New York Knicks, the most by a 76er rookie since Shawn Bradley in 1994. On November 1, 2016, Philadelphia traded him to the Oklahoma City Thunder. In July 2018, he re-signed with Oklahoma City on a three-year, million contract.

On July 8, 2019, the Thunder traded Grant to the Denver Nuggets for a 2020 first-round pick. He helped Denver reach the Western Conference Finals in 2020. He later signed with the Detroit Pistons and then the Portland Trail Blazers. He won a gold medal with the United States at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Grant is a long, athletic forward with defensive versatility and a developing offensive package. He uses his length to block shots, guard multiple positions, and finish at the rim. Offensively, he has expanded his game to include three-point shooting and mid-range isolation scoring, making him a more complete wing than his early-career profile suggested.

Grant enters each season as a veteran forward with NBA and Olympic experience, carrying the distinction of an eight-block rookie game and a gold medal.
