Beehive Tickets launches as Utah Jazz resale alternative

Summary

A Utah season-ticket holder introduced Beehive Tickets, a fan-built resale marketplace with no seller fees and a flat buyer fee.

A Utah fan is trying to turn Jazz ticket resale into a local marketplace instead of another fee trap.

A Reddit post approved by the r/UtahJazz moderators introduced Beehive Tickets, a new resale platform built around Utah teams. The creator said the service is already live on the web, iOS and Android, with support for the Jazz, Mammoth, Real Salt Lake, BYU, Utah and Utah State.

The pitch is simple: sellers keep 100% of the price they list, while buyers pay one flat 10% service fee. The post said every price is shown all-in, with no checkout surprise, and that the first 100 sales are being offered at a 5% launch fee. For Jazz tickets, delivery still uses the official SeatGeek fan-to-fan mobile transfer. Beehive is trying to replace the fee layer, not the actual ticket delivery system.

The founder framed the project through his own season-ticket experience. He wrote that he has held RSL tickets for 21 years, Jazz tickets for 12, Utah Football tickets for eight and Mammoth tickets since the franchise started. His example was a $20 Jazz ticket sold through SeatGeek: he said he received $18 while the buyer paid $30, leaving $12 in fees on a ticket that still transferred directly from fan to fan.

The buyer-protection piece is the real test. According to the post, checkout places a hold on the buyer's card first. The buyer is charged only after the seller confirms the seats are available. Stripe then holds the money until the buyer confirms the tickets landed in their SeatGeek account. If the seller misses the transfer deadline, the buyer is refunded, including Beehive's fee.

The site also added offers this week. Buyers can name their price, the total is held on their card, and the seller sees secured money before deciding whether to accept. Declined or expired offers release the hold.

For season-ticket holders, Beehive includes bulk listing, per-game pricing, repricing, pull-down controls and optional seat verification badges. The builder said the full Jazz home schedule is already listed, and several comments pushed for more filters and clarity on perks like parking or club access.

This is still a fan-built marketplace, not an official Jazz announcement. But the reaction shows why the idea hit: Utah fans are tired of paying major-platform fees for tickets that already move cleanly through mobile transfer.
