Jimmy Butler is not pretending the Warriors' situation is simple.
Asked about trade speculation while he works back from an ACL injury, Butler gave a blunt answer. "If I get traded, I get traded," he said. "Their job is to win. Can I help them do that? Yes."
That was not a complaint. Butler also made clear he feels wanted in Golden State and does not take that for granted. His point was more practical: if the Warriors believe another player can help them faster than his recovery timeline allows, he understands the business side.
"As of right now, I'm here," Butler said. "I'm grateful, but if I'm going to be here whenever I get back, we're going to be just fine."
He also spoke warmly about the organization. In a separate answer shared in the Reddit thread, Butler said, "Retire here. This organization is top-tier. It's the best. Keep it a buck. It's the best." Playing with Stephen Curry is part of what makes the situation meaningful.
The Warriors still have to balance sentiment with urgency. Curry's window is not unlimited, and Butler's return date shapes everything from rotation planning to trade math. For now, Butler is leaving the next decision with Golden State.
