Stephen Curry is not hiding the idea anymore.
Asked about LeBron James, Curry told Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle, "I would love to play with him. Hopefully, that will be a reality soon." The comment landed while James continues to weigh where he will play in what would be his record 24th NBA season.
Curry also said he has mostly traded text messages with James, not pushed him through a full sales pitch. That is still enough to keep the Warriors in the middle of the conversation, because Curry and James have already shown real chemistry in USA Basketball settings.
The basketball case is easy to understand. Golden State has spent years trying to stretch the Curry window, and James would give the Warriors another elite connector, passer and late-game decision-maker. The harder part is everything around it: salary, assets, age, role and whether James actually wants to leave the Lakers.
For now, Curry's quote is not a transaction signal by itself. It is a clear public invitation from the one Warrior whose words matter most.
