Tyler Herro's Miami chapter is officially closing.
After the Heat's Giannis Antetokounmpo trade became official, Herro posted a farewell message thanking the city and the franchise that drafted him as a 19-year-old out of Kentucky. He called Miami the place where he grew up, became a father and built lifelong relationships.
Herro wrote that the Heat believed in him before he had proved anything. He pointed to seven years that included two trips to the Finals, deep playoff runs, an All-Star selection, injuries, trade rumors and the pressure that came with being one of Miami's most debated players.
The emotional center of the message was simple: Herro said Miami became home. He thanked Erik Spoelstra, Pat Riley, Micky Arison, the organization, teammates, coaches, staff and fans for pushing him and supporting him through the highs and the difficult stretches.
He also made clear where he is headed next. Herro said he is excited for his next chapter back home in Milwaukee, but added that part of him will always belong to Miami. That line fits the moment. He leaves as part of the package that helped the Heat land Giannis, one of the biggest moves in franchise history.
Herro's Heat tenure was never quiet. He had huge playoff moments, long injury stretches and constant trade speculation. Fans argued about his ceiling almost every season. Still, his farewell post landed like a real goodbye, not a routine social media note.
For Milwaukee, Herro now becomes a major piece of the post-Giannis reset. For Miami, his departure is the cost of chasing a new title window around Antetokounmpo. Herro gets a fresh start in his home state, and the Heat move into a completely different era.
