Alex Antetokounmpo

Antetokounmpo is a young Greek-Nigerian player on a two-way contract with the Milwaukee Bucks and their G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd. The youngest brother of Giannis, Thanasis, and Kostas Antetokounmpo, he carries the distinction of sharing an NBA roster with Giannis and Thanasis, making the Bucks the first franchise in NBA history to field three brothers simultaneously. His path to the league included stops in Spain, the G League, Lithuania, Montenegro, and Greece before his eventual two-way return to Milwaukee.

Born Alexandros Emeka Antetokounmpo on August 27, 2001, in Sepolia, an Athens neighborhood, he is the son of Nigerian immigrants Veronica and Charles Antetokounmpo. He obtained a Nigerian passport in June 2013 and received Greek citizenship in September 2021, alongside his mother. He began playing basketball at age nine and moved with his family to Cudahy, Wisconsin, during his brother Giannis's rookie season with the Bucks. Before high school, he relocated to River Hills, Wisconsin, and attended Dominican High School in Whitefish Bay.

At Dominican, Antetokounmpo played four years of varsity basketball. He averaged 2.9 points as a freshman but grew roughly 12 cm by his sophomore year, reaching approximately 2.03 m. He became a two-time all-state selection and averaged 20 points and seven rebounds as a senior. He drew scholarship offers from DePaul, Ohio, and Green Bay but announced on May 9, 2020, that he would bypass college basketball and turn professional in Europe. Recruiting services rated him a three-star prospect.

On June 22, 2020, he signed a three-year deal with UCAM Murcia in Spain's Liga ACB. He debuted for the reserve team in October 2020, posting 28 points, six rebounds, and six three-pointers in an 83–69 victory. After going undrafted in 2021, he participated in the Sacramento Kings Summer League squad, which won the 2021 Summer League title. On October 14, 2021, he signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Toronto Raptors but was waived the next day to join Raptors 905. On November 3, 2022, he joined the Wisconsin Herd.

His professional wanderings continued across Europe: he signed with MBasket Delamode Mažeikiai in Lithuania in February 2024, then Podgorica in Montenegro in August 2024, and PAOK in Greece in October 2024. He remained with PAOK through the summer of 2025, renewing his contract in July before requesting his release in August. Brief stops with Aris followed in August 2025, but he played only two games. On October 13, 2025, he signed a two-way contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, returning to the organization where his brother Giannis won MVP honors and a championship.

On the court, Antetokounmpo is a long wing with physical tools that suggest two-way upside. He showed shooting promise in his Spanish debut and Summer League appearances but has yet to log consistent NBA minutes. His length and mobility hint at defensive switchability, while his offensive identity remains tied to spot-up shooting, transition running, and cutting off the ball. At the G League and European levels, he has worked on decision-making and off-the-dribble creation.

Antetokounmpo enters the 2025–26 season as a two-way contract player with the Milwaukee Bucks. His résumé includes youth national team participation for Greece, a family basketball legacy, professional experience across four European countries, and a historic NBA roster placement alongside two older brothers. His ongoing challenge is translating physical potential into reliable rotation production at the highest level.
