Leonard Miller

Miller is a Canadian forward who entered the NBA through the G League Ignite after a rapid physical transformation and a decorated postgraduate season in Ontario. Drafted in the second round in 2023, he has spent time between Minnesota and its G League affiliate while adjusting to NBA physicality and positional demands.

Born on November 26, 2003, in Scarborough, Ontario, Miller played multiple sports as a child, including basketball, volleyball, and golf. He attended Bill Crothers Secondary School in Markham before transferring to Thornlea Secondary School, where he helped the team win the National Junior Circuit title in March 2019. He later transferred to Wasatch Academy in Utah and then Victory Rock Prep in Florida, where he missed several months with a broken right wrist in late 2020.

Miller opted for a postgraduate season at Fort Erie International Academy after growing from a 6-foot-4 guard to a 6-foot-10 wing over an 18-month period. He led Fort Erie to an Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association title and was named league MVP. He received over 25 college offers and was selected to play for the World Team in the Nike Hoop Summit. On April 23, 2022, he declared for the 2022 NBA draft but withdrew on June 13 to join the G League Ignite.

Miller signed with the NBA G League Ignite on September 7, 2022, and was named to the G League's inaugural Next Up Game. The San Antonio Spurs selected him 33rd overall in the 2023 NBA draft and traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves on draft night. He signed with Minnesota on July 9, 2023, and has split time between the parent roster and the Iowa Wolves. In February 2026, he was traded to the Chicago Bulls alongside Rob Dillingham and four second-round picks.

Miller is a long, athletic forward with a developing outside shot and defensive versatility. His rapid growth spurt gave him guard skills in a forward's body, allowing him to handle the ball, attack closeouts, and defend multiple positions. His development focus centers on consistency as a shooter and strength training to handle NBA physicality.

Miller won a silver medal with Canada at the 2019 FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship in Brazil, averaging 4.2 points per game. His older brother, Emanuel, played college basketball for Texas A&M and TCU and currently plays on a two-way contract with the San Antonio Spurs.
