Pelle Larsson

Larsson is a Swedish guard who entered the NBA as a second-round pick in 2024 after a decorated college career that spanned Utah and Arizona. Known for his shooting, playmaking, and defensive versatility, he has developed as a rotation guard for the Miami Heat.

Born Pelle Gustav Gosta Larsson on February 23, 2001, in Stockholm, Sweden, he is the son of Christian Larsson, a former member of the Sweden men's national basketball team. As a youth, he played for Skuru IK and later moved to BC Lulea, where he was named the league's star of the year in his first season at the top level, averaging 7.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 0.8 steals.

Larsson moved to the United States in 2020 to play for the Utah Utes. He became a starter seven games into his freshman season and averaged 8.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists. He announced a transfer to Arizona following his only season at Utah.

At Arizona, Larsson was named the Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year in his first season, averaging 7.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 37 games. As a junior, he averaged 9.9 points and 4.3 rebounds. He initially entered the 2023 NBA draft but returned for his senior year. In 2023-24, he helped Arizona reach the Pac-12 tournament championship and the NCAA tournament.

The Houston Rockets selected Larsson with the 44th overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft and traded him to the Miami Heat. On July 2, he signed with Miami and made his NBA debut on October 23, 2024. On February 2, 2025, he was assigned to the Sioux Falls Skyforce and was recalled a day later.

Larsson is a versatile guard with shooting range, playmaking vision, and defensive toughness. His game is built on pick-and-roll execution, spot-up shooting, and guarding multiple positions. He has represented Sweden at the under-16, under-18, and senior levels, including EuroBasket 2025, where he averaged 18.8 points.
