Lachlan Olbrich

Olbrich is an Australian forward who reached the NBA as a second-round pick in 2025 after a winding professional career that spanned Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. He has played for the Chicago Bulls on a two-way contract after winning multiple championships across two countries.

Born on December 30, 2003, in Adelaide, South Australia, Olbrich grew up playing basketball with his older brother Mitchell and his father Greg. He attended Reynella East College and represented South Australia at national championships in 2020 and 2021. In 2021, he signed as a development player with the Adelaide 36ers of the NBL.

In 2022, Olbrich played for the Southern Tigers of the NBL1 Central and was named to the All-Star Five, winning the Frank Angove Award as the league's best under-23 player. He moved to the United States to play for UC Riverside in 2022-23, averaging 11.4 points and 6.1 rebounds and earning Big West Freshman of the Year and All-Big West Honorable Mention.

He returned to Australia and joined the West Adelaide Bearcats in 2023, helping them win the NBL1 Central championship and earning grand final MVP. He signed with the Illawarra Hawks in 2023 and won an NBL championship with them in 2024-25. He also played for the Canterbury Rams in New Zealand, winning the NZNBL championship and earning grand final MVP, league MVP, and All-Star Five honors.

The Los Angeles Lakers selected Olbrich in the second round of the 2025 NBA draft. He signed a two-way contract with the Chicago Bulls.
