About Paul George

George is an American forward who has built a lengthy NBA career as one of the premier two-way players of his generation. Drafted 10th overall in 2010, he has earned nine All-Star selections, six All-NBA honors, and four All-Defensive Team selections while playing for the Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers, and Philadelphia 76ers.

Born Paul Clifton Anthony George Sr. on May 2, 1990, in Palmdale, California, he attended Knight High School and played for Pump and Run of the AAU, where he played with Jrue Holiday. He was not considered a major prospect by colleges and was rated a three-star recruit by Rivals.com. He verbally committed to Santa Clara but later decommitted and chose Fresno State over Georgetown and Penn State.

At Fresno State, George averaged 14.3 points and 6.2 rebounds as a freshman and 16.8 points and 7.2 rebounds as a sophomore. He declared for the 2010 NBA draft.

The Indiana Pacers selected George with the 10th overall pick in 2010. He earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors and was named the NBA Most Improved Player in 2013, when he also earned his first All-Star selection. He suffered a broken leg in 2014 while competing for Team USA and missed most of the 2014-15 season. He recovered to become an All-Star again in 2016 and won an Olympic gold medal that same year. He was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2017 and then to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019. He signed with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2024.

George is a versatile forward with elite scoring ability, three-point shooting, and defensive versatility. He scores from all three levels, creates off the dribble, and defends multiple positions. His combination of size, skill, and athleticism has made him one of the most respected two-way players in the league. He has led teams to multiple conference finals and remains a top-tier wing in the NBA.
