Bogdan Bogdanović

Bogdanović is one of the most accomplished European guards of his generation, combining a decorated international résumé with a solid NBA career as a scoring wing and playmaker. Drafted in 2014 by Phoenix, his rights were traded to Sacramento, where he eventually made his NBA debut after starring for Partizan and Fenerbahçe in Europe. He has represented Serbia at multiple Olympics and World Cups, earning bronze in Paris 2024, and remains the country's all-time leading scorer.

Born on August 18, 1992, in Belgrade, Serbia, Bogdanović began playing organized basketball with ŠKK Zvezdara before moving to Žitko Basket in April 2008. Under coach Dragan Jakovljević, he helped the team earn third place in the 2009–10 Junior Serbian League. In May 2010, he joined FMP's junior team for the Nike International Junior Tournament in Paris, hitting a buzzer-beating off-balance shot for a 79–78 win over Málaga in the group stage. At age 18, in September 2010, he signed his first professional contract with Partizan. Initially, he saw limited minutes, but his role expanded with the return of head coach Duško Vujošević in 2012. He made his EuroLeague debut in 2012–13 and earned praise from Serbian national team selector Aleksandar Đorđević after scoring a career-high 27 points against CSKA Moscow in Belgrade.

In the 2013–14 season, Bogdanović emerged as one of the most promising young European players, scoring a career-high 32 points in an ABA League game versus Cibona. His development with Partizan established him as a top prospect, and he was drafted 27th overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2014 NBA draft. His draft rights were traded to the Sacramento Kings during the 2016 draft. Rather than immediately joining the NBA, he continued his European career with Fenerbahçe, where he won multiple domestic titles and earned All-EuroLeague First Team honors. His Fenerbahçe tenure sharpened his offensive game and prepared him for the transition to the NBA.

Bogdanović joined the Sacramento Kings for the 2017–18 season, making his NBA debut after years of speculation about when he would cross the Atlantic. In Sacramento, he established himself as a reliable scorer, three-point shooter, and secondary playmaker. He displayed a smooth shooting stroke, a high basketball IQ, and the ability to operate off the ball or initiate pick-and-rolls. After several seasons with the Kings, he was traded to the Atlanta Hawks, where he continued to serve as a veteran presence and clutch scorer. He later moved to the Los Angeles Clippers.

His international career with Serbia is equally distinguished. He helped Serbia win silver at EuroBasket 2017 and has been named to the All-FIBA World Cup First Team twice. At the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, he contributed to Serbia's bronze medal and was named to the FIBA Olympics All-Second Team. He surpassed all previous Serbian scorers to become the national team's all-time leading scorer, a testament to his longevity and offensive consistency at the international level.

Bogdanović is a scoring guard with elite shooting range, a crafty mid-range game, and playmaking vision. He creates separation with subtle footwork and uses his size to shoot over smaller defenders. His three-point shooting is a primary weapon, and he thrives in catch-and-shoot situations as well as off-the-dribble pull-ups.
